Introducing Suzanne Rice of Computer Troubleshooters
Hi Suzanne, tell us a bit about yourself & Computer Troubleshooters
Steve and I first set up Computer Troubleshooters in Hildenborough in 2003 as we saw a need for computer support services locally. Back in those days not every house had a computer, and most people accessed the internet via dial-up modems! Over the years our business has evolved in response to the changing IT environment; computer repair and virus removal requests are now rare, and our focus is providing a full IT support service for local businesses.
Prior to setting up Computer Troubleshooters, we had not been involved in computer repair, but our work experience has set us in good stead. Steve was a programmer and project manager; his extensive knowledge of computers and his methodical approach to problem-solving have served him well in this current work. I also worked in IT as a business analyst where my main role was to act as an interpreter between the business users and the technical teams, a skill which has transferred well to my duties at Computer Troubleshooters.
Computer Troubleshooters currently has 3 team members: Steve is the managing director and senior technician, I look after the non-technical customer-facing aspects of our work and Liane Agnew joined our team last year to provide technical support to our customers. Computer Troubleshooters is an international franchise, so we have access to a wealth of IT support knowledge. We also benefit from world-class vendor relationships, including the use of a Network Operations Centre, giving us a team of over 600 technicians at our disposal!
The Tonbridge & Hildenborough Mums website is aimed at families in and around Tonbridge & Hildenborough. How do you think Computer Troubleshooters would appeal to them?
No business can function nowadays without the support of a reliable IT infrastructure. We are there for businesses based in Tonbridge, Hildenborough and the surrounding area to keep their computers up-and-running. We are happy to perform ad hoc emergency jobs, but many of our customers sign up to managed service plans, allowing us to monitor their IT equipment and deal with issues before they impact the business.
Tell us a bit about what you and Computer Troubleshooters bring to the local community
We focus on local businesses, not straying far beyond a 15 mile radius from our Hildenborough base. Although much of our work can be accomplished remotely, you will often see our Citroen Berlingo van, complete with Computer Troubleshooters logo, in the vicinity.
We have a number of charities on our client base whose work we are proud to support. We also support Tonbridge Angels Football Club by sponsoring an advertising board.
We enjoy being part of the local business community. As a member of the Tonbridge Castle chapter of BNI (Business Networking International), we meet up on a weekly basis with other local business people to support each other in promoting our businesses.
Where can we find you?
We work out of a garden office on the Brookmead estate in Hildenborough. You can generally find us at the end of a phone or online!
Lastly, tell us an interesting fact about yourself!
I was born on the day that Yuri Gagarin became the first man to go into space!
